Skyline’s Paige Wahrmann and Hannah McPherson are owners of 2008 Heart of the Plains League track and field titles. They claimed ownership at the league’s 2008 championships in Kiowa Thursday.Wahrmann’s 35-10 shot put effort was the day’s best.McPherson long jumped 15-4 for the title. She finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 32-7.Natali Jones sailed 15-1 for the triple jump’s runner-up spot.Andrea Hirt threw the javelin 118-5 for second. Her 18.76 100M hurdles time earned third.
The Lady Thunderbirds placed second in the team competition with 96 points.The championships’ host, South Barber, compiled 177.
Alayna Howell’s 105-foot discus performance secured third. Jordan Gilleece navigated the 1600M in 6:14.53 and finished third.

Skyline now prepares for the 2008 KSHSAA Montezuma-South Gray 1A Track and Field Regional at Montezuma-South Gray High School May 12. They will compete against Argonia, Ashland
